Fairy Sail Stories
Zakynthos on ‘’sail’’

Come on board for a… salty escapade “sprinkled” with turquoise sea water, sun, fresh air breeze, champagne “cheers” and awe-inspiring backdrops.

Taking for granted that “if there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water”, we have designed for you 3 different yacht cruises -north, south and around the island- that will blow up your mind…

Yacht cruise in the northern part of Zakynthos

From the resort areas of Tsilivi, Alykanas and Alykes, you will sail up to Skinari, the most northern part of the island, where you can see the lighthouse. Just off the port of Agios Nicholas at Skinari enjoy a small island in the shape of a turtle, officially belonging to the Vatican as it was not ceded to Greece along with the rest of the Ionian Islands in the 18th Century. From this point our closest neighbor, Kefalonia, can  be seen.

Heading onto Smugglers Cove, where the “Panayiotis” shipwreck can be seen, and a stop for a wonderful swim in the lovely blue waters. Those strong swimmers wanting to swim ashore can do so with the captain’s permission, as there is no dock.

Continuing, you will sail to the famous Blue Caves discovered in 1897. The name comes from the colour of the water, a mixture of aquamarine and turquoise. This area is also the deepest part of the Mediterranean called the Well of Ionysos, which is about 4,500 meters deep. Swimming here is mandatory!

Cost 1
1.960 € per 2 persons

Cost 2
490 € per person for 4

Cost 3
327 € per person for 6

Yacht cruise in the southern part of Zakynthos

A 3 hour trip taking in the beautiful scenery. Sailing south to the stunning Keri Caves for your first stop, you will have some fantastic photo opportunities. From here you will cruise to the small island of Marathonissi. The island is situated in Laganas Bay. There are seven discrete nesting beaches for the Loggerhead Turtle, one of them being Marathonissi. The nature  on this tiny island is purely exotic as there are no inhabitants, so what’s better than a swimming stop, in the clear blue waters.

Back onboard, you will gently cruise around Marathonissi and Laganas Bay for turtle spotting. Feeling lucky enough?  Chances are Caretta-Caretta – a protected species and one of Zakynthos’ most famous inhabitants- you will finally meet!
